Abstract: Purpose: To systematically review the real experience of nurses in the fight against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Methods: PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, CBM, CNKI, Wan-Fang Data, and VIP from inception to April 2020. Qualitative research on real experience of nurses in the fight against the COVID-19 were collected. The study was screened by two researchers according to the criteria. After obtaining the data, the study quality was evaluated according to the JBI Critical Appraisal Tool, and the results were integrated by meta-synthesis. Results: Ten qualitative studies were included, involving 29 clear results and 7 categories, then 3 integrated themes were extracted: bear the burden of mind and body; desire for support and approval; self-worth is reflected. Conclusions: Nurses play an important role in the battle against the new coronavirus pneumonia, and nursing managers should dissolve the negative emotions of nurses in time. From the national and policy level, a scientific guarantee system should be formed for the materials, talent reserve, logistics, professional knowledge and other powerful guarantees. The community needs to foster a culture of respect for health care workers so that nurses can achieve their own value and gain a sense of professional identity and honor.

Abstract: Objective: Effective isolation management of multiple drug resistant organism (MDRO) patients is considered an important measure to prevent cross-infection. To reduce the spread of MDRO, there is a need to improve the correct implementation of isolation measures for intensive care unit (ICU) medical personnel. We will investigate the application of quality control circle (QCC) activities in improving the correct implementation rate of isolation measures for patients with MDRO in ICU medical personnel. Methods: A 10-member QCC activity group was established. All of the ICU medical personnel were taken as the research objects, including doctors, nurses, assistant nurses, rotation training personnel, external ICU consultants and cleaning personnel. The correct implementation of isolation measures for patients with MDRO infection were investigated and studied, which identified the problem areas and analyzed the main reasons. The quality improvement countermeasures were formulated and implemented in ICU medical personnel, while the results were compared with before and after the QCC activities. Results: After QCC activities, the correct implementation rate of isolation measures by ICU medical personnel for patients with MDRO infection increased from 57.7% to 82.4%. The incidence of MDRO infection in ICU patients decreased from 9.64% to 3.77%, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). Conclusion: The QCC activities improved the correct implementation rate of MDRO isolation measures by ICU medical personnel, standardizing the isolation management of MDRO patients, while the incidence of MDRO in ICU patients was also effectively reduced.

Abstract: Objective: According to evaluating the preoperative depression and anxiety of patients with thyroid cancer, relevant risk factors were analyzed and effective intervention measures were discussed. Methods: We collected 111 participants’ information which the patients were diagnosed as thyroid cancer. They were diagnosed in the hospital and join our study from June 2018 to February 2020. In the study, we provide some questionnaires to participants, and collect the information of patient from hospital database. After that, our researchers get the result through analysis and statistics. We collect the related data, that contains anxiety assessment, depression assessment, gender, age, education, occupation, family per capita income, payment method, marital status, previous surgery history, familiarity with surgery, history of alcohol use, smoking history, sleep quality. Result: more participants in research have anxiety than the participants who have depression problems, the none level of two assessment are 41.44% vs 49.55%. In similar, anxiety assessment group has higher score than that of depression assessment group in the result (9.53±3.84 vs 8.74±3.23). In different general data the incidence, the elements which are the average monthly income of the family, pay method and history of smoking, sleep condition are statistical significance. Conclusion: the important factors of anxiety and depression contain education level in high school or above, payment at their own expense and poor sleep quality in patients with thyroid cancer before surgery.

Abstract: Clinical judgment is an essential skill required for nurses to provide safe, quality patient care. Nurse educators must develop effective teaching strategies to assist prelicensure nursing students in developing clinical judgment skills. The objective of this study was to determine if a teaching strategy focused on the affective domain of learning and emotional intelligence could be an effective strategy to promote the development of clinical judgment. A guest speaker was invited to the classroom and provided her “lived experience” with multiple sclerosis, which provided a storytelling method of learning. An interpretive descriptive qualitative study was conducted with twenty-one prelicensure diploma registered nursing students enrolled in a medical-surgical nursing course (in the United States of America). Tanner’s Clinical Judgment Model (noticing, interpreting, responding, and reflecting) was used as the theoretical framework to guide data analysis. Four themes emerged from the data: 1) attentive listening (noticing), 2) understanding the patient’s experience (interpreting), 3) compassionate and empathetic care (responding), and 4) treat the patient as a person, not as a disease (reflecting). Results indicated that storytelling via “lived experiences” is an effective teaching strategy which promotes learning through the affective domain and emotional intelligence while also assisting students in developing clinical judgment. Clinical judgment skills are essential for the graduate nurse transitioning to practice.

Abstract: Introduction: Vector-borne diseases account for over 17% of all infectious diseases, causing quite 1 million deaths each year global quite 2.5 billion people in over 100 countries are in danger of contracting Dengue. Objective: The study aimed assess Knowledge attitude and practice toward chikungunya virus among Kassala community people of selected area (Kassala in Sudan 2018-2019). Methodology: A community based cross sectional study was conducted in selected area of Kassala city. The study was conducted among 49 participants from 30th December 2018 to January 2019. Simple sampling method was followed for choosing the participants; face-face interview was taken by using structured questionnaire. Result: The results show that respondents had heard of Chikungunya infection 48 (97%), and 43 (87%) responded correctly that Chikungunya is transmitted by Aedes mosquito. Among total 49 only 2 (4%) had misconceptions that Chikungunya vector breeding in dirty storage water. Study respondents were conscious about clinical features of Chikungunya infection signs and symptoms of Chikungunya p-.000. Study participants use various methods measures against mosquitoes bites including Mosquito repellant cream18 (36%), Wearing full sleeves shirt 16 (32%), Electric racquet 16 (32%), and Bed nets 5 (10%) for insect bite prevention. Social network/ media was considered because the most significant and useful source of data on the disease. Conclusion: Community people havegood knowledge about Chikungunya breeding place and methods of prevention of the disease and further adult mosquito control measures play important role for the effective containment of a virulent disease.

Abstract: Background: Surgical counts are a basic and crucial specialized nursing operation in operating rooms, to guarantee surgical safety, prevent surgical items from retaining in the body and ensure the success of surgery and safety of patients. Objective: To explore the effect of “Surgical Instruments Organizer” applied in operating rooms as a nursing patented product to minimize the occurrence of surgical counts missing. Methods: Research setting was arranged in a large general hospital where two of the emergency operating rooms were used to compare the effects and influences of the application with “Surgical Instruments Organizer”. Results: The rate of surgical counts missing in the control room was significantly higher than that in the experimental room (P<0.05). In both the control room and the experimental room, the incidence of one surgical counts missing in one surgery was higher than that of two surgical counts missing in one surgery. Surgical counts missing between two surgeries mostly happened when surgical items were removed temporarily (141, 10.2% in the control room; 55, 4.0% in the experimental room), while surgical counts missing happened the least in preoperative preparation (21, 1.5% in the control room; 4, 0.3% in the experimental room). Between two operating rooms, most of the time lost items were found by scrub nurses (403, 29.2% in the control room; 165, 12.1% in the experimental room). Most of lost items can be found within 10 minutes (312, 22.6% in the control room; 112, 8.2% in the experimental room), but a few items cost more than 60 minutes (32, 2.3% in the control room; 17, 1.3% in the experimental room). Conclusion: “Surgical Instruments Organizer” can effectively reduce the rate of surgical counts missing in emergency surgeries, and improve the nursing quality and surgical safety.

The study aims to explore the managing method of orthopedic spare loaner instrumentation and implants in Central Sterile Supply Department of the hospital (hereinafter referred to as CSSD). Methods: 418 orthopedic operations use orthopedic spare loaner instrumentation and implants in 2018 were selected as per-implementation. The routine methods were used to manage the orthopedic spare loaner instrumentation and implants. 437 orthopedic operations use orthopedic spare loaner instrumentation and implants in 2019 were selected as the implementation. Using the optimized method to manage the orthopedic spare loaner instrumentation and implants is to compare the changes of timely supply rate, double closed loop management execution rate and doctor satisfaction before and after the implementation of orthopedic spare loaner instrumentation and implants in our hospital. Results: After the implementation of optimized management measures, the timely supply rate of orthopedic spare loaner instrumentation and implants reached 100%; the implementation rate of double closed-loop management increased from 69.86% to 100%; and the doctor satisfaction increased from 77.78% to 97.22%. Conclusion: By optimizing the management measures of orthopedic spare loaner instrumentation and implants, we can improve the timely supply rate, achieve the whole process trace ability and improve the doctor's satisfaction, further improve the safety of the instruments, reduce the surgical infection, and ensure the safety of patients.

Abstract: Object: Determine the cause of nosocomial cluster infections of peripheral venous catheter-related bloodstream infection (PIVC-BSI), and provide advice on prevention, control and nursing measures. Method: A retrospective analysis of nosocomial cluster infections that occurred in a tertiary hospital on July 28-30, 2019. Blood samples from patients suspected of PIVC-BSI were retained for bacterial culture. The clinical data of the patients, environmental hygiene indicators were collected. Results: All 8 patients had chills within 0.5 - 3.5 hours after intravenous infusion, and the highest body temperature reached 41°C. The peripheral blood samples of 4 patients were cultured as Burkholderia cepacia infection, and the eluate from the catheter tip of 2 patients cultured the same bacteria as the blood culture. The humidity in the treatment preparation room was 60% - 80%. There was mold in the sterile storage cabinet. Conclusion: The nosocomial cluster infection of PIVC-BSI was caused by Burkholderia cepacia colonizing the tip of the peripheral intravenous catheter, and the high air humidity was the most likely factor. The ability of nurses to identify and respond to PIVC-BSI as well as the infection control management level of each department still needs to be improved.

Abstract: Objective: To assess the application effect analysis of nurse's equipment management standardized in ICU equipment management. Method: This study included 56 related medical staffs who are working in ICU department and they used the medical equipment in their working. the data of 2018 was defined as control group, that the medical equipment was receive common management methods in 2018. In intervention group, we collected related data in 2019, that the medical equipment was receive nurse's equipment management standardized in this year, the intervention contrasts Standardize management, set up instrument management team, formulate instrument management system, instrument maintenance and repair system, instrument training system, and regularly organize study and training for all staff in the ward. We evaluated the differences between the two groups in terms of instrument repair rate, instrument maintenance cost, nursing staff's mastery of instrument and equipment skills, instrument maintenance quality, instrument and equipment maintenance rate, and instrument management mode satisfaction. Result: In terms of the frequency and cost of instrument and equipment maintenance, the frequency and cost of maintenance are both higher than the standard management, and the results are statistically significant. In the survey results of instrument and equipment standard management, except maintenance efficiency, the other data are statistically significant. The p value of nursing staff's satisfaction with instrument and equipment skills, instrument maintenance quality, instrument and equipment maintenance, the p-value instrument management mode was all less than 0.005, the difference was statistically significant. Conclusion: Standardized management of ICU equipment can reduce equipment failure rate and maintenance cost.

Abstract: Objective: To analyze the effect of early screening and safe management of dysphagia in scleroderma patients. Methods: From January 2016 to January 2020, a randomized controlled trial was performed with scleroderma patients (n = 42) who were diagnosed as scleroderma. In intervention group, the participants are accepted early screening and safe management of swallowing disorders. The participants of control group are accepted common nursing service. Result: the 48.84% of participants have problems in swallowing process, most participants provide assessment of level 2 of WST. In swallowing test assessment, more participants think they feel obstruction when eating steamed bread. The accident aspiration pneumonia has higher risk than that of aspiration pneumonia in two group (10.00% vs 3.75% & 37.50% vs 23.75%). In research of swallowing function treatment, most participants of intervention group are basic recovery in treatment outcome, the control group have most invalid assessment in treatment outcome. Conclusion: the early screening and safe management of dysphagia can efficacy improve scleroderma dysphagia of scleroderma patients. In dysphagia problem, the scleroderma patients have higher risk of accident aspiration, and the early screening and safe management of dysphagia can improve problems of accident aspiration and aspiration pneumonia. Additionally, the early screening and safe management of dysphagia have strong effect for dysphagia.

Abstract: Purpose: To determine the impact of the internet+ transitional care on knowledge, attitudes, and practice (KAP) of family caregivers of patients with Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and analyze the practicability of the internet+ Medical Messenger and WeChat network support platforms. Background: The number of AD patients in China has exceeded 10 million, ranking first in the world. Home care is the main way of care for AD patients. We use the Internet platform to implement “online” combined with “offline” continuous care for AD patients and home caregivers, and provide personalized health education and guidance, so that caregivers can easily master disease-related knowledge, establish positive care beliefs, improve care ability, and promote the improvement of patients’ caregivers’ knowledge, attitude and practice. Method: The family caregivers of 77 patients with AD were randomly divided into two groups (intervention group [40 patients] and control group [37 patients]). The intervention group adopted the internet + transitional care, while the control group adopted traditional transitional care. The KAP of the two groups of family caregivers before intervention, 3 months after intervention, and 6 months after intervention were analyzed. Results: The KAP scores of the 77 family caregivers before intervention were 17.39 ± 2.92, 33.42 ± 4.77, and 57.65 ± 13.84. There was no significant difference in the knowledge scores in the care (t=1.89, P=0.062) and symptom (t=1.78, P=0.078) dimensions 3 months after intervention, while there was a significant difference in the other KAP dimensions (P < 0.05). Conclusions: The internet + transitional care improves the level to of KAP among family caregivers of patients with AD and the effect was proportional to time.

Abstract: The objective of this study is to explore the effect of implementing accompanying family management in gastroenterology patients during the COVID-19 epidemic. According to the guidelines for the prevention and control of COVID-19 issued by the National Health Commission and the Guangdong Provincial Health Commission, as well as the First Affiliated Hospital of Jinan University and patients’ demands, we implemented an accompanying family management system for gastroenterology patients. The management plan not only listed the permission criteria for accompanying family, but also offered escorts with COVID-19 nucleic acid testing, COVID-19 case screening, temperature measurement, symptom observation, health education, and health protection. The results of this study revealed the following main findings: From January 23 to April 23, 2020, a total of 438 inpatients and 113 family escorts were admitted to the hospital, who demonstrated 100% compliance with epidemic prevention and control measures, no infections, and an average score of 96.2 in the patient satisfaction survey. It can be concluded that the establishment and strict implementation of an accompanying family management system together with good epidemic prevention and control practices not only substantially reduces the accompanying family rate without compromising the quality and safety of patient care, but also effectively prevents in-hospital infections.

Abstract: Background: Deep venous thrombosis (DVT) is a common complication of gynecological pelvic surgery. DVT focuses on prevention. How to make a detailed perioperative nursing plan and organize its implementation of the measures is a great significance for the prevention of DVT in patients undergoing gynecological pelvic surgery. Objective: To investigate the effect of perioperative nursing intervention measures on the prevention of lower extremity deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in patients undergoing pelvic surgery in gynecology. Methods: Set up a project improvement activity group, analyzation the reason of gynecological pelvic surgery patients with DVT, and development a detailed plan of perioperative nursing intervention measures. Organizing the implementation of “one-on-one” nursing intervention, the problems in the nursing process were collected and formulated solutions, inspection gaps in care, made up the nursing error and improved nursing content. It was used to improve the quality of preventive measures and promote their implementation by “plan-do-check-action” (PDCA) cycle. Results: The perioperative preventive measures were continuously improved with PDCA cycle. The incidence of DVT in patients with pelvic surgery in our gynecological ward decreased from 6.96% to 2.08%. The anus exhausting time, resumption of eating time, defecation time and first leaving bed time of perioperative nursing group were shorter than before of the project improvement activities. The hospitalization time of patients was also significantly shortened. The differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). Through the follow-up survey, patients' satisfaction with nursing increased from 82.6% to 95.0%. Conclusion: Through the development of detailed perioperative nursing plan and promotion the implementation of the measures with PDCA cycle continuously improved for the prevention of DVT in patients undergoing gynecological pelvic surgery, the incidence of postoperative lower extremity DVT could be effectively reduced and also promote the rehabilitation of postoperative. Abstract: Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of psychosocial interventions designed to improve the psychological distress of informal caregivers of cancer patients compared with usual care. Methods: Nine relevant databases were searched from inception to November 2020. We included randomized controlled trials focused on comparing psychosocial interventions delivered to informal cancer caregivers with usual care. Study quality was evaluated with the Cochrane Risk of Bias Assessment Tool, and meta-analysis was performed using Review Manager statistical software. Results: Fifteen studies involving 1006 participants met the inclusion criteria, and several kinds of psychosocial interventions were applied to either cancer caregivers or patient-caregiver dyads. Compared to usual care, psychosocial interventions manifested positive, significant results in depression (SMD=-0.47, 95%CI -0.71 to -0.24, P<0.001) and anxiety (SMD=-0.50, 95%CI -0.91 to -0.09, P=0.02). And the psychosocial interventions have no significant effect on general psychological distress (SMD=-0.25, 95%CI -0.54 to 0.05, P=0.10) and subjective burden (SMD=-0.06, 95%CI -0.26 to 0.14, P=0.55) of cancer caregivers. Conclusion: Psychosocial interventions designed for cancer caregivers can effectively reduce depression and anxiety, while no significant results were found in general distress and subjective burden of cancer caregivers. More studies with stronger methodological designs and larger samples are still needed in the future.
